Margaret Rose Ramey's Obituary
Margaret Rose Ramey, 84, of Richardsville passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at her residence. She was born May 7, 1939 to the late Manuel Jenkins and Lucy Virginia Jenkins Shaw.
Margaret had a strong willed, independent, and tenacious personality. Yard sales were an activity she relished. Finding a bargain would bring her great satisfaction. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed mowing her yard. A great past time for her was to play cards with her children and family. Margaret had a deep affection for her two dogs, Paylate and Prince.
Margaret is survived by her children; Myra “Tinky” Settle, Gary “Bubba” Hitt and wife, Amy, Penny Hitt and husband, Doug, April Backe and her husband, John, and Elton John Hitt; siblings, Irma Jean Fincham, Marion Buchanan, James Russell Shaw, Brenda LaRue, and Pamela Davis; grandchildren, Allen Settle, Amy Settle, Kelley Settle, Kristen Settle, Amber Jones, Evan Hitt, Dylan Hitt, Bryan Hitt, Sammy Hitt, Ryan Hitt, Eric Hitt, Ally Backe, Erica Hitt, Hanna Hitt, and Shelby Hitt; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Linden Ramey; sons, Richard “Boogie” Hitt and Eric Jason Hitt; siblings, Cluster Jenkins, Clara Settle, and Roger Shaw; and granddaughter, Kaley Backe.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jeff Light officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Jeffersonton, VA.
