Peg and I were quite friendly about 20 years ago, when I was interested in Papillons. She was always warm, friendly, and supportive - QUITE unlike most dog fanciers. She and Frank were clearly devoted to one another. I moved away, and we lost touch. I will always have fond memories of her.
Peg was a kind loving neighbor that became my good friend..she was the one who would leave me goodies on my porch ...from flowers to a special stuffed bunny. ..we always joked ..who let the dogs out... Peg let the dogs out.
We will miss her ...she will always have a place in my heart.
We found Margaret (Peg) when looking for a Papillon breeder. We quickly fell in love with her beautiful dogs and at 6 weeks old, Isabella (Izzy) joined our family.
We also fell in love with Peg and her late husband Frank. Peg was smart, dedicated, and witty! (Who else would offer me "bird wine" -cheap, cheap, cheap!).
Peg became nicknamed "Grandma Peg" to Izzy - who was always excited to go visit her when we mentioned her name.
We have been friends for over 16 years and we (and Izzy) will miss Peg.

Peg had the biggest heart of anyone we knew. She was always there to lend a helping hand. She volunteered many years in the Culpeper Hospice office and was extremely dedicated to her Church. For years, Peg worked with her loving dogs. Many, like her beloved Goldie, earned Obedience titles from the American Kennel Club. Peg went on to train and show dogs. She showed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Show a few times and had some top Champions. Peg loved the Papillon breed and begin her own breeding kennel under the name of Walden. Peg was very gracious in and out of the dog show ring. I always thought she was much like the Papillons she bred...a true Social Butterfly.
