Margaret Allen Quarles' Obituary
Margaret Allen Quarles, 89, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 7, 1925 to the late William and Sara Allen.
She is survived by her devoted husband and friend of over 70 years, Samuel Quarles, Sr.; nine children, Shirley Ann Ross and her husband, Robert, Sara Bell Early and her husband, Otis, Gloria Gen Burton and her husband, Glen Sr., Walter Jeffery Quarles and his wife, Denine, all of Richmond, VA, Samuel Lewis Quarles, Jr. and his wife, Karen, Roger Donald Quarles and his wife, Marcia, Patricia Lorraine Adams and her husband, James, Lester Anthony Quarles and his wife, Eyvone, and Donna Reed Terrell, all of Gordonsville, VA.
Additional survivors include her close, loving friend and twin sister, Eve Allen of Charlottesville; her brother, whom she drank morning coffee and shared the newspaper together, Ralph Allen and his wife, Irean of Gordonsville; and brother, Clarence Allen of Louisiana; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Josephine Quarles, Elsie Mottley, Alberta Quarles, Gurtrude Gardner and Mary Foster; and brothers, Jack Allen, Frank Allen, Robert Lee Allen and Walter Allen.
The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6233 South Spotswood Trail, Gordonsville, VA 22942.
The family will like to give a special thank you to Mary, Christina and others of Hospice Care for their compassion and support and personal care of Tanya Ross and Ann Sacre.
