Margaret Rose McFarland's Obituary
Margaret Rose Lillard McFarland, 78, with her family by her side, went to be with the Lord peacefully Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Novant Health in Haymarket. Margaret was born on March 20, 1937 in Leon, VA to the late Marvin Wade Lillard and Ruth Woodward Lillard.
Margaret had a beautiful smile and was loved by everyone she encountered. Margaret embraced an active life, serving as the vice president of McFarland Trucking Company and as an active member of Broad Run Baptist Church for over 25 years, she had served as a Sunday school teacher, Children’s Church teacher and was active with the Bible School. Margaret greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to fish, also gardening families of flowers and collecting antiques.
Margaret is survived by her husband of the last 60 years Dallas McFarland and their two children; Douglas Wayne McFarland and his wife Barbara of Catlett, VA and Donna Sisk and her husband Gary of Warrenton, VA three grandchildren; Dallas, Amanda and Natalie McFarland also of Catlett. Also surviving is her one brother, James Lillard and his wife Linda Yurinak of Locust Grove, VA in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and dearest loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with the Pastor Henry Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Interment will follow at Bethsaida U.M.C. Cemetery in Brightwood.
