Growing up in Lynchburg, Peggy rode horses, was a cheerleader at E.C. Glass High School and attended Randolph Macon Woman’s College. A “war bride”, she continued working toward a degree in chemistry at George Washington University until she became pregnant with her first child; and for the next ten years traveled widely as a “Navy wife”. She settled in Arlington in the mid 1950’s where she enjoyed careers in banking (eventually as an officer of Cherrydale National Bank) and later as a very successful real estate agent/builder, all while raising her family of three daughters. As an “empty nester” Peggy’s adventurous spirit flourished, with trips throughout the world. Her most memorable trip was to Tibet and Nepal in the late 90’s where she and her traveling companions had an audience with the Dalai Llama. She also completed the requirements for a license as a glider pilot.
For the past 15 years Peggy split her time between Fredericksburg and Indian Harbour Beach, FL enjoying time spent with family and friends.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Lynchburg.
