Marcia Kay Dunn's Obituary
Marcia Kay Dunn (Peterson) passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at her home in Fredericksburg, VA. She was 80 years old.
Marcia was born in Sioux City, IA on October 1, 1943, and married in Denver, CO on April 2, 1965. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in December 1998, after 31 years of service.
Marcia loved riding horses, singing in choir/chorus, and gardening at home and their vacation home in Chincoteague, VA. She was also the editor of the community newsletter of their subdivision for many years.
Marcia is survived by her husband, John J. Dunn; two children, John F. Dunn II (Lynn) and Jennifer Daly; five grandchildren, Brittany Dagenhart (Johnny), John Joseph Dunn II, Courtney Booth (Alex), Alix Aslinger (Taylor), and Chase Daly; five great-grandchildren, Bryce Dagenhart, Leighton Dagenhart, Sadie Dagenhart, Ayla Booth, and Malcolm Booth; and her sister Karen Ostrander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Lucile Peterson; and her sister, Lynn Peterson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 2208 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg.
