Marcelle Elaine Meli's Obituary
Marcelle Elaine Meli, 92, wife of Arthur S. Meli, died on Sunday, February 8, 2015.
Born in Vallejo, CA and raised in Los Angeles, she spent much of her adult life in California, Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well as overseas in Cyprus, Panama, England and Okinawa.
Marcelle had many interests, including sewing, needlecrafts, and Girl Scouts. She was also an avid swimmer, and competed for many years in the Senior Games.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, Marcelle is survived by her seven children, Donald Meli and wife, Randy of Annandale, VA, Michael Meli and wife, Mary of Great Falls, VA, Richard Meli of Houston, TX, Carla Rice and husband, Jim of Yorktown, VA, Teri Broberg and husband, Al of Minneapolis, MN, Paula Havens of Manassas Park, VA, and Lisa Alzamora and husband, Steve of Ashburn, VA; and nine grandchildren.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of The Crossings and Mary Washington Hospice.
A private burial is planned.
