Maggie Frances Short's Obituary
Maggie Frances Short, 77, of Culpeper died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 9, 1930 in Rappahannock to the late Fisher Lee and Mary Leake Creel.
Mrs. Short was a member of Culpeper Assembly of God where she arranged the House of Prayer and was an ordained minister. She loved to shop, going to yard sales, festivals and most of all to church.
She is survived by her children, Mary Donald Sirio and her husband Steven of Rixeyville, Jo Ann Johnson Sholes and her husband James of Rixeyville, James Blair Johnson of Greensboro, NC, Gary Leland Johnson of Dinwiddy, VA , William Edward Johnson of Stafford and Benny Johnson and his wife, Sheila of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include her brother, Robert Creel of PA and her sister, Hazel Southard of Ohio, son-in-law, Sam Mittan of Culpeper, 16 grandchildren, Lisa, Rodney, Dustin, Penny and Mark Donald, Barbara Jean Sholes, Arlene Driver, Debbie Utz, Jason, Jamie, Abby, Barbie and Jonathan Johnson, Kiley Jeffries, and Amanda Richards.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Blair Johnson, son Larry Johnson, daughter Jean Donald Mittan, one brother, Milton Creel and three sisters, Emma Peyton, Peggy Butler and Gayle Hawkins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Brother Danny Ryder officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her sons, and son-in-laws.
