Mae Diehl Mann's Obituary
Mae Elizabeth Diehl Mann, 86, went to be with Our Lord on Monday, March 15, 2010 in Warrenton Oak springs Nursing Home, formerly of Nokesville, VA
Mae was born on March 29, 1923 in Nokesville, VA, the oldest daughter of the late D. Saylor Diehl and Vernie Flory Diehl. She was also preceded in death by her late great-grandson, Noah Mathew Andes in 2007; three brothers, Lloyd Diehl, Flory Diehl and Ralph Diehl.
Mae is survived by her loving husband since June 16, 1949, John Phillip Mann III. She is also survived by her daughter, Darlene Andes and husband, Roger of Sumerduck ; two sons, John Mann and wife, Nancy of Mt Solon; Charles Mann of Blacksburg; two grandsons, Phillip Andes and wife, Karen and great- granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth -Lynn Andes of Christiansburg; and Darrell Andes and wife, Chanda great- grandsons, Darrell Jr., Devin, Dustin and Dylan Andes of Madison; two granddaughters, Heather Dodd and husband Mannin, great- granddaughter, Virginia Mae Dodd of Blacksburg; Jamie Hinegarner and husband, Chester and great- granddaughter Piper Hinegarner of Mt. Solon. Other survivors include, a sister-in-law, Carolyn Diehl of MD; two sisters, Edna Britton and husband, Bobby of Harrisonburg; and Ruth Owens of Nokesville; one brother, Ray Diehl and wife Kittie of Frederick, MD; also many dear friends and family and a special nephew Bill Boyd of Richmond. Mae was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the USA & in Germany, and a Government employee until retirement in 1981. Mae also had many years doing The Lord’s work in and out of church at The Nokesville Church Of The Brethren and NASCAR drivers from 1974-1992. She always enjoyed crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, reading mysteries, dancing, bowling bingo and card games. A Memorial service will be held in Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:00 Pm at The Nokesville Church Of The Brethren, Nokesville, VA with pastor Mark Godfrey officiating. Interment will be a later date at the Valley View Cemetery, Nokesville, VA with Honorary pallbearers, Phillip Andes, Darrell Andes, SR., Darrell Andes, Jr., Devin Andes and John P. Mann IV. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
