Mae Helen Carpenter's Obituary
Mae Helen Carpenter, 95, of Culpeper passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Autumn Care of Madison. She was born June 16, 1923 in Culpeper to the late Onley and Virginia Yowell Mitchell.
Mrs. Carpenter was a member of FT Valley Baptist Church and a former member of the American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary. She loved playing BINGO at all the fire companies. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her three children, Ronald “Shorty” Carpenter of Madison, Roger Lee Carpenter and his companion, Connie Aylor of Greene, and Debra Feaganes and her husband, John and their son, Doyne Feaganes, of Culpeper; she had five grandchildren, William Pierce and his wife, Kay of Orange, Stacy Carpenter and his wife, Sandi of Culpeper, Stephannie Hartwig and her husband, Matthew of Spotsylvania, Douglas Carpenter and his companion, Heidi of Madison, David Carpenter and his wife, Ashby of Spotsylvania,
Additional survivors include nine great-grandchildren, Sydnee and Brisbenn Hartwig, Dillon Smith, Mike Carpenter, Amber Carpenter and Damian Withrow, and Laylah and Hailey Carpenter, and Noah Feaganes. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Atkins Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Franklin Carpenter; one son, Michael Douglas Carpenter; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Lee Carpenter.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Etlan Cemetery with Pastor Sandy Martin officiating.
