Mabel Ann Burke's Obituary
Mabel Ann Burke, 87, of Woodville, VA, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2025. She was born in Rappahannock County on August 11, 1937, to the late Edgar and Annie Bennett Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her six siblings, Franklin Hawkins, Jean Alther, Billy Hawkins, Bobby Hawkins, Dottie Burke, and Roger Hawkins, and her husband, Garfield Burke.
Mabel’s greatest joy was her family; she loved them deeply. Her memory will live on through her son Richie Burke (Robin), granddaughters Molly Stolar (Mike) and Katie Burke-Smith (Gerald), great-grandchildren Eli, Josie, and Alex Stolar, cherished nieces Judy Deal and Kim Hawkins, and many other beloved family members and friends.
A private gathering for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, March 8, at the Woodville Cemetery, with interment to follow. Pastor Jeff Light will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mabel’s honor to the Rappahannock Food Pantry, 37 Leggett Lane, Washington, VA 22747.
We take comfort in knowing that Mabel is at peace, reunited with those she loved, and resting in the presence of the Lord.
