Luella Loretta Cyr's Obituary
Luella L. Cyr, 89, passed away on May 26, 2021. Lou was born on November 12, 1931, to the late John and Erna Schnaible; in Java, South Dakota. She was also predeceased by her late husband, Leo T. Cyr, daughter, Dorinda, and brothers Harvey and Delbert.
She grew up on a farm in rural Java, SD, where she attended school through High School, and then Business college in Rapid City, SD. She held various office positions in both government and private industry, retiring from Communications Corp. of America in 1996.
While her husband was in the Army and later with the U.S. Government, she and her family lived in various areas in both the U.S. and overseas.
Lou was a very active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. When her children were younger, she enjoyed volunteering at various schools and later did some substitute teaching at Piedmont Tech in Culpeper. Her favorite things were being outdoors, walking daily and working in her flower garden. She was an avid reader most of her life.
Survivors include her two sons Kerry Cyr of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brian Cyr and wife Martha of Glen Allen, VA, her two grandsons, Eric and Clay Cyr of Glen Allen, VA, and her sister Mavis Larson of Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Jessica Darty officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Found and Sons.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1, Culpeper, VA 22701.
