Ludwig Thomas Crossman's Obituary
Ludwig T. Crossman, (Jr.), 94, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2021. He was born July 1, 1927, in Washington, D.C. to the late Ludwig E. and Ethel K. Crossman.
Shortly after high school, Jr. was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps and served in combat in the Korean War. He was presented a Purple Heart medal as a result of being wounded while carrying a buddy back from the front line. After returning home, he enjoyed a career in construction and farming. He was a long-time member of Woodland United Methodist Church.
Jr. is survived by four children; Roger Crossman (Mary Ann), Mary Freitas (Les), Kirk Crossman (Lisa), and Jill Lavoie (Mark), 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include his brother, Bill Crossman and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 12, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Ed Morris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Woodland United Methodist Church, 14282 Woodland Church Road, Culpeper, VA 22701.
Inurnment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, 305 US Avenue, Culpeper, VA 22701 with VFW Post 2524 providing military honors.
