Lucy Mae Compton's Obituary
Lucy Mae (Wharton) Compton 77 of Castleton , died at Fauquier Hospital on Saturday November 24, 2007. She was born on November 28, 1929 in Rappahannock County to William Ashby and Lillie Pearl Wharton
Mrs. Compton is the wife of the late Warren Emerson Compton, Sr.
She is survived by her nine children Linda Colvin and her husband Joseph of Viewtown, Polly Haines and her husband Donald of Front Royal, Mary Huff and her husband Steve of Tampa. Fl., Warren E. Compton, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Castleton, Donald R. Compton of Jacksonville, Fl., Ronnie L. Compton and his wife Jacqueline of Culpeper, John Compton of Culpeper, Jerry Compton of Castleton and Connie Smith and her husband Arthur of Amissville
She is also survived by 3 sisters and a brother Lillian ford, Virginia Coppedge, Jenny Mae Dodson and William (Sawbuck) Wharton and loving best friend Pearl and Joe Tate
Additional survivors include 8 grandchildren Priscilla Coxsey of Culpeper, Sara and Wyatt Colvin of Viewtown, Mark and Brian Haines of Front Royal, Brett Huff of Tampa, Fl., Jessie Compton of Amissville and Heather Compton of Portsmouth
She has 8 Great Grandchildren Quaid Coxsey, Aaron and Caleb Haines, Eric Compton, Nikolas Huff, Austin Haines, Hunter and Abby Compton
Mrs. Compton was predeceased by a daughter Lois Jean Compton, a grandson Timothy Lee Compton, a brother Garfield Wharton and a sister Nellie Utz
She was a lifelong member of Massonova Penticostal church and Member of the Castleton Volunteer fire Department
The Family will receive friend on Tuesday November 27, 2007 from 7 to 9pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpepr, Va. 22701
A funeral Service will be held at the Massonova Pentecostal Church in Rappanahannock County on Wednesday November 28, 2007 at 1pm with the Reverend Lindsey Savage officiating
The Pallbearers will be her grandsons Mark Haines, Brian Haines, Wyatt Colvin, Brett Huff, Jessie Compton and Michael McCutchen
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery
The Family will gather at Castleton Volunteer fire Department after the interment
