Lucille Smith's Obituary
Lucille Smith, 91, of Locust Grove died on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1917 in Lignum, VA to the late Sam and Bessie Dorsey Smith.
Mrs. Smith was a Deaconess and member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church where she was very active with the Flower Club, choir and working in the church kitchen. She volunteered her time helping those at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center and did a great deal of youth ministry at Coffeewood Correctional Center.
She is survived by her special nieces and nephews, Bessie Day, Bernice Brown, Cathy Smith, Ann Orange, Samuel Smith, Keyon Smith, Lewis Smith and Bill Smith and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her siblings Connie Jackson, Dorothy Lattimore, Robert H. Smith, Sam Edward Smith, Clodies A. Smith, Gordon Smith and Samuel Smith, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lignum with Rev. Douglas Greene officiating.
Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
