Louise Mae Malamphy's Obituary
Louise Mae Malamphy passed away on May 30, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born in Aldie, Virginia, daughter of the late Ella Nora Baker Elkins and Edward Thomas Elkins.
She met her husband Kenny at the Woodward & Lothrop store in the gift wrap department where they fell in love and married. As their family grew, she worked for the Fairfax County School System in the W. T. Woodson High School Cafeteria Department for many years. She went on to become a “Meemaw” to her grandchildren and others. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by her two loving sons Michael Malamphy (Karen), Kenneth “Rocky” Malamphy (Janet); Five grandchildren Kimberly Malamphy, Jacob Malamphy (Vicki), Shane Malamphy, Heather Malamphy and Amanda Malamphy; Five great-grandchildren Hailey Malamphy, Hayden Smith, Sadie Malamphy, Arabella Malamphy and Alayah Young; Two sisters Sheila Barker and Evelyn Downs, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth J. Malamphy, her brother Cecil Elkins and sister Hazel Williams.
The family would like everyone to remember her sense of humor, and her love for cats, who she affectionately referred to as her “sugarbuggers”.
Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Louise on Sunday, June 30th, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. for her family and friends, at Mountain Run Winery, 10753 Mountain Run Lake Road, Culpeper, VA 22701.
