Louella Pauline Alther's Obituary
Louella Pauline Alther, 86, of Front Royal, who died on May 16, 2010 at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal. She was born September 13, 1923 in Sperryville to the late Ernest B. and Margaret “Mattie” Nun Atkins.
Mrs. Alther was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Rappahannock and also was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center in Front Royal.
She is survived by her five children, James L. Alther (Rosalie) of Culpeper, Fay Atkins of Sperryville, Randall J. Alther of Luray, Cathy A. Jenkins of Luray and Pamela L. Woodard (Tommy) of Sperryville and a sister Virgie Atkins of Lynchburg.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren Timothy Alther of Sarasota, FL, LoriBeth Dang of Aldie, Kevin Alther of Culpeper, Mike Atkins of Sperryville, Bill Atkins of Berkeley Springs, WV, Jeff Atkins of Sperryville, Julie Smith of Orange, Jolene Alther of Winchester, R. Jay Alther of MD,Eric Jenkins of Luray, Brandy Jenkins of Woodville, Ashley Woodard of Portsmouth and Paul Woodard of Sperryville, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul S. Alther, sons in laws Huey Atkins and Kent Jenkins, her siblings Eugene Atkins, Wilson Atkins, Virgil Atkins, Laney Atkins, Lindbergh Atkins, Roberta Irene Baker and Geneva Atkins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 7p.m. to 8p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jon Heddleston officiating.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
