Lois Virginia McFarland's Obituary
Lois Virginia McFarland, 102, of Culpeper, died Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 27, 1920 in Rappahannock County to the late John Thomas and Lillie Blondell Leake.
Lois was a member of Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church. She loved her time raising children. She enjoyed working in the apple orchard and cooking Sunday dinner for everyone.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Peggy Tharpe (William) and Joan Broyles (Carroll); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; and one sister, Lillie Corbin.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Willie McFarland; four children, Betty Grigsby, Thomas William McFarland, James Lewis McFarland, and Eugene Snead McFarland; three sisters; and four brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Bruce Beeler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family will be Kerry Lynn Grigsby, Kerry Paul Grigsby, William Grigsby, Glenn Tharpe, Sr., Glenn Tharpe, Jr., Carroll Broyles, Jr., Joseph Broyles, and Kurt Jenkins.
