Lois Jean Lipscomb's Obituary
Lois Jean Lipscomb, passed away on April 17, 2011 at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, VA with her family by her side. She was born on August 21, 1948 in Cumberland, MD and graduated from Ursuline Academy. Lois has proudly served as a federal government civilian for over 30 years and was to retire from the Department of Homeland Security this June. She was loved and admired by all who had the good fortune of knowing her and will be remembered for always putting others before herself. All those who knew her, will tell you that she could not wait to retire and be with her grandchildren.
She had a very special bond with both of them. She will be missed dearly by all.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Kevin Conroy and grandchildren Michael and Madison of Gainesville, VA; her son Gregory Lipscomb of Madison Heights, VA and her brother James P. Rogers II of Fairfax Station, VA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Found and Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, VA 20155 with the interment immediately following at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lois’ name to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance at www.ovariancancer.org/donate/
