Lois June Leitch's Obituary
Friends and family of Lois June Leitch (nee Carneal) are mourning the passing of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. June passed Friday, February 17, 2012, after a stroke. Her family finds strength and peace knowing that she is not in pain and that, in recent weeks, she had told her family that she was ready to go and be with her Lord.
June will be remembered as a funny, vibrant, theatrical woman, who spoke her mind—no matter the crowd. She was a talented seamstress, with a flair for reupholstering furniture and sewing her own bright and colorful clothes. She was also an accomplished hair dresser, and exceptional cook. She made THE BEST fried chicken and cabbage and ham. She always almost fainted at funerals, and she witnessed to everyone that Jesus Christ was her savior.
June was predeceased by her husband of many years, Charles (Chunk) Pratt Leitch. She is survived by her four children, Terry (Harry) Matthews, Pamela Sue Leitch, Charles P. Leitch, Jr., and Kimberly (Mark) Pack; seven grandchildren, Heather, Lori, Hillary, Jessica, Casey, Melissa, and Michelle, and numerous great grandchildren; her brother Sidney Carneal and numerous nieces and nephews.
June’s family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
