Linwood Madison's Obituary
Linwood Madison, 78, of Spotsylvania County passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home after a battle with cancer.
He enjoyed racing his stock car, tinkering around the garage, playing with his animals and spending time with his family. His favorite hobby was listening to country music.
Linwood is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ethel Madison; two sons, David Madison of Charlottesville and Steve Madison and his wife, Angie of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Nina Madison Adkins and her husband, Ronald of Spotsylvania and Robin Madison of Fredericksburg; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six brothers, Jim Madison of Port Royal, Billy Madison and his wife, Peggy and L.M. Madison and his wife, Joy, all of Fredericksburg, Melvin Madison and his wife, Doris of New York, Gene Madison and his wife, Linda of Port Royal and Jesse Madison and his wife, Nancy of Stafford County; two sisters, Maxine Madison and Audrey Merryman, both of King George County, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linwood and Hazel Madison and four sisters, Grethel, Margaret, Carrie “Sis” and Margie.
Linwood’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Linwood’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9904.
