Linda Ann Simpson's Obituary
Linda Ann (McIntyre) Simpson, died on March 11, 2024 in Culpeper, VA, at the age of 76. She was born May 31, 1947 in Front Royal, VA. Her parents, Cleon Wilson McIntyre and Evelyn Virginia (Best) McIntyre, lived in Front Royal but would move to Mashall where she grew up, and later raised her own family. Linda was the first of three McIntyre sisters, Judy Rose (deceased) and Bonnie Sears of Virginia Beach. The trio were inseparable, she loved her sisters more and always had their backs.
Linda was well known as a very talented floral designer in the Marshall/Middleburg area. She got her start with Flowers by J&P in Mashall in the early 1980s. She retired in 2010, from Middleburg Floral and Gifts where she spent most of her career. She took great pride in her arrangements and loved getting to know her customers. She served on the Marshall Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by her two sons, Ray Simpson (Tammy, deceased) of Marshall, VA and Ken (Courtney) Simpson of Rixeyville, VA; nine grandchildren: Trey (MaryBeth) Simpson, Adam “Spanky” Simpson, Taylor (Brandon) Falls, Kayla Simpson, Skylar Simpson, Genavieve Simpson, Ryker Simpson, Everleigh Simpson, and Kerrigan Simpson; and seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Simpson, Camden Simpson, Brayden Simpson, Marshall Hawkins, Jackson Simpson, Blake Simpson, and Cade Dodson.
She was a loving mother and grandma. Her door was always open for any family or friends. She loved to cook and was proud of her home. She loved music and loved to dance, she often hosted family gatherings and parties. She was a wonderful, kind, caring and generous woman, who was loved by many.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24th at Marshall Baptist Church, 4121 Winchester Rd, Marshall, VA 20115. A brief visitation will begin at 12:30, prior to the service.
