Linda Ruth Mabe's Obituary
Linda Ruth Mabe, 78, of Culpeper, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 with her children by her side. She was born on May 23,1945 in Columbus, OH and was preceded in death by her parents John D and Irma Holbrook.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Claude Thomas Mabe.
Linda was a licensed nursing home administrator in Ohio where she and her husband Claude were married and started their family. They eventually settled in Haymarket, Virginia where they raised their three children. After raising her children, she worked as a secretary at Lord and Company in Warrenton, Virginia and then the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority where she worked until her retirement in 2007.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to travel.
Linda is survived by her children, Susan Kannard (James), Kim Mabe, and James Mabe (Julie); brother, Carl Holbrook (Susan); seven grandchildren, James Kannard, Jr. (Heather), Crystal Harris (Matthew), Amber Dameron (David), Nathan Mabe, Elena Mabe, Jacob Zoller (Anna), and Thomas Zoller; 7great grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 12:00 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Pastor Martin Pickett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 11:00am.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E. Chandler Street, Culpeper.
