Linda Tyson Ausley's Obituary
Linda Tyson Ausley, 85, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Charles Franklin Tyson, Jr. and Dovie Christine Ruff Tyson, and was raised in Marianna, Arkansas.
To know Linda, was to know her deep and abiding love for her family. Linda created a nurturing, affectionate, and stimulating environment for her three rambunctious boys. As the family of a naval aviator, they relocated more than twenty-two times including seven coast-to-coast moves. Regardless of the challenge, Linda ensured her home was filled with love, stability and laughter.
Linda had a passion for travel and experiencing new things. From global adventures including Hong Kong and Japan to a spontaneous road trip with her companions, she delighted in spending time with family and friends, human and furry alike. Dogs were always part of her household, and her love for them was immeasurable.
Linda is survived by her former husband, Joe Henry Ausley, Jr. (Carolyn), and their three sons: Joe Henry Ausley, III, his children Hannah Green, Lydia Finley, and Joe Ausley, IV; Bryan Tyson Ausley (Jeannette), his children Chelsea Ausley and Alec Ausley; and Paul Derek Ausley, (Rebecca), his children Nicholas Ausley and Chad Ausley. She also leaves behind 18 beloved great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in Huntsville, AL at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Best Friends Animal Society at bestfriends.org.
Linda will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her steadfast devotion to family, and her ability to turn every journey, whether across the world or across town, into a cherished memory.
