Lillie Mae Johnson's Obituary
Lillie Mae Johnson, 72, of Woodville died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Fauquier Hospital. She was born May 11, 1938 in Rappahannock County to the late Oscar and Josie Corbin Wharton.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and faithfully attended Thornton’s Gap Baptist Church. She graduated from Washington VA High School and worked for the government for several years. After the birth of her children she became a housewife and devoted mother.
She is survived by her husband, Wieland Charles Johnson, one son, Charles Thomas Johnson and his wife, Stefanie of Woodville, one grandson, Robert Tyler Johnson and two brothers, Jessie and James Wharton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Alan Johnson, one sister, Geneva Burke, and two brothers, Haywood and Henry Wharton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Kirby Shenk and Rev. Leah DeLong officiating. A two hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Albert Wharton, Jerry Burke, Dic Burke, Tim Norman, Robert Day and Bill Ward.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 8085, Sperryville VA, 22740 &/or Washington Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 238, Washington VA 22747.
