Lillian Alverna Robertson's Obituary
Lillian Alverna Snyder Robertson, 98, went to her heavenly home on December 19, 2025 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.
Alverna was born in Independence, Iowa on April 1, 1927 to Clarence and Lurah (Andrews) Snyder. She spent her first years after high school graduation working in teletype with her lifelong high school friend Norma Rathbun in various places such as Mobile, Alabama, Miami, Florida, Tokyo, Japan and at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia where she met her future husband.
On May 10, 1953 she married her husband Donald H. Robertson in Washington, D.C. Together they had three children and were married for over 54 years living in Vienna, Leesburg, and Fredericksburg, Virginia. She became a homemaker, cooking, baking, canning, gardening, sewing and crafting over the years. She was a Girl Scout leader for two years, a member of the Virginia Extension Homemakers Club for a number of years, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church for 30 years.
Alverna is survived by her son, Geoffrey (Autumn) of Gainesville, Florida; daughter, Camille Noden (Steve) of Locust Grove, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Sarah Nix Robertson of Fredericksburg, Virginia; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; sister, Arlene Snyder Kratka; son, Timothy Robertson; and various cousins as well as a nephew.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Though she loved all kinds of flowers the family requests that in lieu of flowers and plants that Bibles be given in memory through the Gideons who place the word of God in the hands of those who need it most.
