Lillian Katherine Bawkey's Obituary
Lillian Katherine Bawkey, 90, of Culpeper died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at NOVANT Health UVA Health System. She was born October 12, 1926 in Culpeper to the late Linwood and Mamie Back Yowell.
Mrs. Bawkey was a member of Gourdvine Baptist Church. She was a member and president of the American Legion Auxiliary for 15 years and member of the Virginia Defense Force for 11 years where she retired as Sergeant 1st Class.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, James Bawkey and his wife, Shirley; her sister-in-law, Bertha Yowell; two nephews, Hudson Yowell and his wife, Marcia, and Jonathan Yowell and his wife, Beth; one niece, Catherine Timmons and her husband, Stacy, all of Orange; and numerous cousins and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Lee Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
