Lewis Cowherd Yowell's Obituary
Lewis Cowherd Yowell, 72, of Madison Heights, VA, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. Lewis was born in Culpeper, VA on September 6, 1946 to the late John W. Yowell, Jr. and Katherine Moomaw Yowell.
He is survived by his brothers, William M. Yowell (Julie) and John C. Yowell; four nephews, Michael Jorgensen (Laurie), Eric Jorgensen (Teresa), Jeffrey B. Jorgensen (Mechelle), and Bryan D. Sprinkel; and a special friend, Tom “Moose” Mallory and their families.
Lewis is also survived by his loving family, Tim and Patty Robertson and their children, Carlton Saunders (Jenna), Tess Jones (Anthony) and Hunter Coles; and six grandchildren, all of Lynchburg, VA. Lewis had many special friends who loved him, Joe, Cordine, Gwen, Rhonda, Connie, and his baby Nore’.
Lewis was a child of God who attended Culpeper Baptist Church, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Culpeper and continued his worship at the First Baptist Church, South Lynchburg, VA. Lewis loved first responders, especially Fireman. He was a fantastic jigsaw puzzle player and loved board games. He loved cats and dogs, especially his dog-dog, “Molly”.
A memorial service for Lewis will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Culpeper, VA.
