Lewis Ashton Newton's Obituary
Lewis Ashton Newton, 75, of Stafford County passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Stafford Hospital.
He was born in King George and raised in King George and Stafford, VA and Mount Holly, NJ. He graduated from the University of Virginia and retired as a teacher from Fairfax County after 30 years.
Lewis is survived by his sister, Louise Bessler of New Jersey; his longtime friend, Eleanor Scott of Stafford and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, M. Maude Jones and Strother S. Newton of King George and his best friend and companion of 48 years, Alan R. Stineman.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1:00 pm in Aquia Episcopal Church Cemetery with Father Jay Morris officiating.
Lewis’ family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Aquia Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 275, Stafford, VA 22555.
