Levi Alther's Obituary
Mr. Levi Alther 93 of Washington, VA , passed away peacefully on Monday June 2, 2014 at Royal Haven Assisted living in Front Royal, VA. He was born on September 25, 1920 in Rappahannock County to the late George and Lillian Alther.
A Veteran of the United States Army he served his nation proudly with honor during World War II in Germany. He also worked tirelessly for many years in the Arlington County school system.
Mr. Alther is predeceased by his wife Edna. Survivors include two sons David of Washington VA and Stanley of Sperryville , VA; and a daughter Charlene of Washington VA; one brother Roy Alther also of Sperryville ; 2sisters Irene Frazier of Luray , VA and Nellie Alther of Sperryville. two grandchildren Callie Alther and David Alther Jr also of Washington , Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George and Johnny Alther, as well as a sister Alice Ralls .
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Charles Clinedinst officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Sperryville cemetery.
Gentleman serving as pallbearers are David Alther Jr , Kenny Horton, Michael Horton, Eddie Frazier, Richard Ralls, Junior Ralls, Lewis Pullen Jr, and Wade Frazier.
