Leslie Leland Walter's Obituary
Leslie Leland Walter, 83, of Culpeper passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center. He was born August 27, 1933 in Rappahannock to the late John and Mary Goff Walter.
Leland was retired from C&P Telephone Company after 41 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Culpeper Fire Department, enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. “Katy”, his dog companion, his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Helen Walter; his two daughters, Carol McGowan and her husband, Joseph, and Tammy Reeves and her husband, Steven; two grandchildren, Jennifer Keyser and her husband, Phillip, and Amanda Pritt and her husband, Mike; three great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Randy Orndorff officiating and Pastor Brad Hales co-officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
