Lesley Catherine Smail's Obituary
Lesley Catherine Smail, 57, passed away on May 16, 2022 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. She was surrounded by family and friends. She was born on June 12, 1964 in Washington D.C. and grew up in Nokesville, VA.
She is survived by her parents, Linda L. Poland and James B. Poland, daughter; Christine N. Smail; and son, Michael D. Smail. Lesley has two wonderful grandchildren that she loved with all of her heart, Michael D. Smail (11) and Destiny R. Terry (8). She is also survived by her brothers, Jamie B. Poland and Christopher L. Poland.
Lesley graduated from Brentsville High School in 1982. Immediately after graduation, Lesley began working with the Air Force while at the Pentagon. She then worked for Atlantic Research (now known as AeroJet) for 34 years while also attending Strayer University.
As many who know her would say, Lesley had a gift to make all around her feel special. She was the kindest most loving soul and she brought laughter and love to every room she entered. She had an incredible talent for all crafts including pottery, embroidery and quilting. Lesley loved playing the violin and had an incredible talent for cooking & baking.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a service starting at 5:30 p.m. at Found & Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA
