Leroy O'Davis Hill Jr.'s Obituary
Leroy O’Davis Hill Jr. departed this life at the age of 75 on April 17, 2013 following a long illness.
Leroy was born on December 5, l937 in Culpeper, Virginia to the late Leroy and Minnie Hill. He leaves behind a brother Wilbert (Will) Lafayette Hill and a sister Ellen Frye. He was educated in the public school system in Culpeper County, where he was a member of the band and also participated in numerous afterschool activities. While attending school in Culpeper County Leroy meet the love of his life Jeanette Loretta Lane whom he later married and started a courtship. Leroy Later moved to the Metropolitan area where his love for horses led him to Charlestown race track in West Virginia, where he helped to train and groom horses. After moving on from the race track Leroy began a career in the automotive industry where he became a certified mechanic and worked in numerous auto shops throughout the Washington metropolitan area. After a long career Leroy later retired. He spent most of his spare time sitting on the front porch enjoying the weather while reading his paper and talking to his friends, Walt, Mr. Harris, Matt, Mr. John, and Tom.
Leroy later moved to Charlotte NC with his Daughter. In his old age Leroy began to enjoy watching sports, old western movies, and game shows until a long battle with heart failure and other illnesses finally called him home.
Leroy was the loving father, grandfather and great grandfather of many. Three daughters, Jacqueline Trabue, Sheila Callahan, and Jeanette (Rosie) Hill (deceased). Three sons Leroy (Dee) Hill III, Larry Hill, and Anthony (Tony) Hill (deceased). He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Steven Hill, Kenneth Hill, Larry Hill Jr., Kianna Blakney, Aries Trabue, Delvon Vincent, Antonio Hill, Carlos Callahan, Natasha Trabue, and Titan Trabue. Twenty-one plus great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Rev. Frank Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steven Hill, Titan Trabue, Kenneth Hill, Hank Marks, Aries Trabue and Lorenzo Marks. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hill, Delvon Vincent, Antonio Hill and Daruis Blakney.
He will truly be missed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
