Lenore A. Shorey-Bushey
Lenore A. Shorey-Bushey, 84, of Fredericksburg passed on December 26, 2006 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on July 24, 1922 in Gonvick, Minnesota to the late Axel J. and Louise L. Hanson.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Bushey worked for many years in the Hospitality/Restaurant industry. Over the course of her career she owned two restaurants. In retirement, Mrs. Bushey better known as Nana, loved bingo, scratch lottery tickets, old westerns and latch hooking. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Bushey of Fredericksburg,; a daughter, Dianne L. Holmes and her husband Ernie of Fredericksburg; a son, LeRoy D. Shorey and his wife Pat of Martinsburg, West Virginia; three grand daughters, Crystal L. Furnia and her husband Jeff, Celena L. Bruso and her husband Mark of Ladysmith, Jenifer S. Arnold and her husband Glen of Silver Spring, Maryland; five great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, and Nicholas Furnia; Anthony Holmes and Jack Bruso. Additional survivors include her best friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Wease.
Mrs. Bushey was preceded in death by her first husband, Delbert S. Shorey; two brothers, Harlan and Oliver Hanson; two sisters, Virginia Hanson and Arliss Laycock.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel-Cremation Service, at the corner of Southpoint Parkway and Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Bette Goglia officiating.
