Lena Routt Hitt's Obituary
Lena Routt Hitt, 104, of Culpeper died Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community. She was born July 29, 1910 in Culpeper to the late Carl Edward and Lula Compton Routt.
Mrs. Hitt was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Lignum prior to it becoming Hopewell United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, Dot French and her husband, Nelson of Culpeper, Geraldine H. Campbell of Culpeper and Kenneth W. “Bubby” Hitt and his wife, Jane of Stevensburg; one sister, Lucille R. Leathers; six grandchildren, Kevin French, Debbie Driggers, Jeff Campbell, Donnie Hitt and his wife, Donna, Gary Hitt and Penny Hurt and her husband, C.J.; six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wallace Hitt; two siblings, Hubert E. Routt and Ashby Routt; and one great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Philip Walker officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
