Leatrice Joy Crigger's Obituary
Leatrice Joy Crigger, (with an emphasis on JOY) went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2026, when the great reunion took place with those she has been waiting to be reunited with for a long time.
Born July 8, 1935 in Amherstdale, West Virginia, a true coal miner’s daughter. She was married to her beloved husband of 66 years, Clarence, having married at the age of 15, proving that true love does prevail.
Leatrice had work ethics second to none. Through the years she worked as an accountant at Auto Accessories in the 60’s in Alexandria, Virginia, did the accounting for the family business, worked also as an accountant with People’s Drug Stores, Atlantic Research and various other jobs. Upon her retirement from Atlantic Research, which was not just a job to her, it was special and where she developed many lifelong friends, and to the day of her passing had kept in touch with those she has worked with over the years, even from the 60’s, but not liking retirement she went to work at Walmart, again meeting many new friends.
With her work ethics, she was not going to sit at home long. To Leatrice it was all about building relationships, from work, to church and her neighbors. Leatrice had a strong Christian Faith and throughout the years taught Sunday School, Bible School and was a member of many church groups. She was also a Deputy District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, Prince William District.
She set the example of what real faith and love is, reminding us that faith, hope and love, these three things were important with the greatest being love. Mom like her husband Clarence knew no strangers and lived by her actions not her words.
Leatrice is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Tim) of Remington, VA; her son, Ronnie of Manassas, VA; her brothers, Terrill (Cindy) and Bobby; her three granddaughters, who she loved dearly, Kim (Rob), Pam (Robert) and Jennifer; along with her great grandsons and great granddaughters, Timothy, Samuel, Tiffany, Junior, Haley and Conner; and her great greats, TJ, Ryleigh, Alyssa, Jordon, and Layla, who she was fortunate to have.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff; her husband, Clarence; her mother, Nancy; her brother, Freddie; and other family members who we know were there welcoming her to the new feast.
As Mom entered the gates of heaven, Jesus was waiting with open arms and proclaimed “Job Well Done”.
