Leah Chapman Turner's Obituary
Leah C. Turner, on April 26, 2010, at her home in Manassas, Leah Turner passed away after a short illness. Leah was born on May 16, 1927 in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. She earned an Associate Degree in Mathematics in 1947 and moved to the Washington D.C. area seeking employment. She married George W. Turner in 1948 and became a full-time homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her older brother. She is survived by her brother, Edward and her six children, Jean Lese of Manassas, G. Walter Turner (Angela) of Haymarket, Margaret A. Turner of Louisville, Kentucky; Mark E. Turner of Manassas, Matthew C. Turner (Kelly) of Warrenton and Allison D. Turner of Manassas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rachel Vandivier, Leslie Callahan, Denise Anderson, Andrew Turner, Joshua Turner, Abigail Turner and Rebecca Turner; four great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members in Wisconsin and Oregon. There will be no memorial service and the interment will be private. Expression of sympathy should be made in the form of contributions to the American Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals checks may be payable to the ASPCA, 520 8th Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10018 or to Capital Hospice, 2900 Telestar Ct., Falls Church, VA 22042.
