Lawrence Edward Perry's Obituary
Lawrence Edward Perry, 81, of Culpeper, died on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1932 in Afton, Virginia to the late Sidney R. and Cora Lee Roberts Perry.
Mr. Perry lived his early life in Rappahannock County until enlisting in the U.S. Army and being assigned to a tank battalion in Germany. Upon completing his military obligation he moved into Culpeper and he worked at Rochester Ropes were he retired with over 40 years of faithful service. He was a former member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church during his 20 years of retirement, during that time he greatly enjoyed fishing and gardening when he wasn’t spending his free time with his family out at his sons house pleasantly observing the wildlife and gracefully embracing the joy of being outside with the beauty of nature.
He is survived by his son, Richard Perry and his wife Linda of Culpeper, and two sisters Annie Jenkins of Fairfax and Shirley Huff of Front Royal.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Barbara M. Perry and his siblings Louise Mills and Clyde Perry.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with the Rev. Ron Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
