Lawrence “Pee Wee” Bennett, 81, of Rapidan, died Friday, December 20, 2024, at his residence. He was born June 4, 1943, in Culpeper County, VA to the late William Bennett and Hazel Clatterbuck Bennett. One more thing and I’ll let Read Obituary

Monique, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved husband, partner, and friend. Peewee was loved by all that knew him and will be forever remembered. God bless you and your family. My heart goes out to you my dear friend.
From the very first day Mechelle and I moved from town to be your neighbors six years ago, Pee Wee and Monique welcomed us and showed us what good neighbors ought to be. Pee Wee would have given the shirt off his back to help us if we needed. I am already missing our conversations down by the pond or in the garden about the best way to grow vegetables, the deer and turkeys he had seen, family, and taking care of his property. We have been very blessed to have known him for a few years and grateful our paths brought together.

Darrell and I were so sorry to hear that Pee Wee passed awsy. He was a lifelong friend and so glad we got to see him at our class reunion in October. Darrell often had breakfast with him over the last few years. Pee Wee will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monique, Andy, and the family.

So sorry to hear of your passing Pee Wee. I loved working at the Sports Shop back in the early 70's. Jerry, Woody and you. We had a lot of fun at that store. It was like Grand Central Station. Constant flux of people and they all wanted to inform you of something. We never needed a newspaper because we already knew what was going on. As I look back this was The Good Old Days... Rest in Peace my friend and say Hello to Jerry and Woody!
I had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Bennett in October at Merchants Grocery Company's annual stockholder's meeting. Always a pleasure to see him with that great smile and a warm hello. We will miss him.
