LaVerne Virginia Young's Obituary
LaVerne Virginia Young, 70, of Culpeper, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at her residence. She was born April 14, 1952 to Virginia Robinson Young and the late Edwin Earnest Young in Culpeper County.
LaVerne was a loving daughter, sister and aunt and would do anything for anyone. She loved Pepsi, poker, sweet tea, bingo and watching sports. She was an avid Cowboys fan.
Early in her career, she was a taxi cab driver for Richards Cab Service in Culpeper, Va. She later changed her career path and moved on to Camp 11 where she was employed as a corrections officer. After serving a number of years at Camp 11, she completed the last leg of her career at Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board as a driver delivering meals to the elderly and transporting the physically challenged and handicapped clients.
LaVerne is survived by her mother, Virginia Robinson Young; sisters, Carolyn Williams, Vivian Young, Imogene Jackson, Karen Lee (Edward), Kimberly Lewis (Rodney), Sharon Williams (Larry); brother, Vincent Young; aunt, Sylvia Matthews; sister-in-law, Joyce Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne Ford and her brother, Ivan Young, Sr.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701
A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12 p.m. with Rev. Reese Washington officiating. The family invites those unable to attend to watch via livestream at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1658962948198576
Pallbearers will be Anthony Lee, Rodney Lewis, Ivan Young, Jr., Jesse Washington, Larry Thompson, Frank Reaves, Jr., Iquan Johnson and Robert Robinson.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
