Lauri Ann Halverson's Obituary
Lauri Ann Halverson, 64, of Hampton and Culpeper, VA, after a courageous struggle against cancer, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Lauri was a loving wife, mother, MawMaw, sister, daughter, and better half. She was the happiest surrounded by her family, out on the lake with her baby brother, or watching Hallmark movies.
She had many professional legacies but was happiest working in the real estate industry for over 40 years. Her greatest accomplishment in her career was her beloved employers who became family, Sam Walker, Bruce Clark, and Mrs. Mary. She faithfully served her community in many capacities and cherished the many years amongst her public safety friends.
She never turned away a good game of Yahtzee or Uno.
Lauri is survived by many, many loved ones, including three daughters, Elizabeth Miller (Michael), Tanya Jessup (Drew), and Heather Plemmons (Zachary); her cherished and deeply loved Jay Burns and his daughters, Mariah Dukes (Eric) and Morgan Edenfield (Brent); her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Zachary King, Taylor Marcoux, London Parker Hicks Miller, Brantley Neal Miller, Jeremiah “Watson” Miller, Brayden Cubbage; her father, Dewey Hicks, and his wife, her beloved step-mother, Patricia Edwards-Hicks; brothers, David Hicks and Michael Hicks (Jessica); step-sister, Holly George (Mark); and step-brothers, Chris Fissel (Connie) and Jeremiah ”Bing” Edwards (Britney); the Halverson family, Boo and Debbie Plemmons along with many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Ann Hicks; her husband, Floyd Neal Halverson, and one sister, Elizabeth Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kevin Dawson officiating.
