Larry Gene Lillard's Obituary
Larry Gene Lillard, 61, of Louisa went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 16th, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 21, 1954 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Eugene Lillard and Emma Keyser Lillard. He grew up and lived for many years in Culpeper, VA but spent most of the last years of his life in Louisa , VA to be closer to his grandchildren. Larry was a 30 plus year OTR truck driver who enjoyed seeing the country and meeting new people. He also served nine years with the VA Army National Guard. He was a member of New Life Community church in Louisa where he joyfully served the Lord and made many life-long friends.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jennie, daughter Laurie Ward and her husband, Donald, of Louisa, daughter Jennifer Lillard of Louisa, and son Jason Lillard and wife Shannon of Chesterfield, 4 granddaughters, Hannah, Jaycee, Izzy and Lucy Ward, and 2 grandsons, Steven Stonnell, Jr. and Evan Lillard.
Additional survivors include six brothers, Robert, Donny, Kenny, Timmy, Michael and Gary Lillard, and three sisters, Sharon Mudge, Sheila Estes, and Linda Whitmer, two step-brothers, Daniel Wright and William Knight, and two step-sisters, Carolyn Lillard and Betty Knight, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Frances Lillard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Found and Sons chapel with Pastor Josh Turner officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.
