Kerry Patterson Grigsby's Obituary
Kerry Patterson Grigsby, of Woodville, died at his home on April 4, 2007.
K. P. was a native of Rappahannock County, where he was born on November 14, 1938. He was the son of the late Paul and Maggie Grimsley Grigsby.
He was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church. His career was spent farming for Red Oak Ranch and Manor Farms. He was well known for his bright smile and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty McFarland Grigsby, his daughter Sandy King of Virginia Beach and his son and daughter-in-law Kerry L. and Gail Grigsby of Culpeper; 2 grandchildren Kerry P. Grigsby and William A. Grigsby, 2 step-grandchildren Nickey Powers and her husband, Chris and Samantha P. Dove, 2 great-grandchildren Kylea Grigsby and Kerry “K.P.” Grigsby Jr., and 2 step great grand children Billy Powers and Jacob Powers.
Additional survivors include one brother, Alvin P. Grigsby of Castleton, and a sister Louise Faulkner of Warrenton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, William Dudley Grigsby, Floyd Daniel Grigsby, Charles Edward Grigsby and Hugh Pendleton; and 2 sisters Ada Virginia Settle-Burke and Isa Alma Grigsby.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, April 8, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Oliver Bowles, Pastor Carl Menefee, and Pastor Roger Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at the Grigsby Family Cemetery near Castleton.
