Kenneth Dean Eisenhart Jr.'s Obituary
Kenneth Dean “Tug” Eisenhart, Jr., born November 26, 1948, in Salt Lake City, UT, passed away on July 7, 2026, in Spotsylvania, Virginia, surrounded by his family.
During high school, he spent his summers working at a cattle ranch. Summer breaks during college were spent working at a cattle ranch. He loved the adventure of being out in the country during those times. Tug had a love for outdoors, fishing and tying his own flies, camping, hiking, hunting, model railroads, woodworking, stamp collecting, sightseeing, photography and automotive tinkering.
While attending Brigham Young University, he was in the ROTC and after his second year he volunteered into the U.S. Army and deployed to Vietnam as a Medic with the 101st Airborne Division. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Vietnam Campaign Medal for his service during Vietnam. After Vietnam, he continued his military career in Military Intelligence with duty stations in Germany, Japan, the Philippines, and Korea, with dedication and honor, retiring in 1987 as Sergeant First Class.
Ken is survived by his cherished and loving wife of 23 years, Joyce; and his children, Kenneth “Ike” Eisenhart, III (Cathy), Tracy Tinoco (Victor), Richard Eisenhart (Amanda), and Charles Eisenhart. He was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Tim R. Eisenhart; and his sisters, Mary Alice Ambrose and Helen “Kukla” Brontikis.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Dean Eisenhart, Sr. and Helen Alice Winder; and by his grandson, Sean Ethan.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no celebration of Ken’s life, but family and friends gathered to honor his memory and share the many ways he enriched their lives.
Ken will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
