Kelly Diane Barber's Obituary
Kelly Diane Barber (Cowan) passed away in her home on May 18, 2018 in Spotsylvania, VA. She was 43.
Kelly was born on February 25, 1975 in Belding, MI to parents, Robert Cowan and Wendy van Appel. She was completing studies in clinical psychology at Southern New Hampshire University. She married Clifford Barber in 2006. The Barbers moved to Spotsylvania where Cliff works as a contractor and Kelly was a full-time student. Kelly also served in the United States Army from 1993-2005, as a member of the military intelligence corps, with tours in Korea, Germany and Iraq.
Kelly was a loving wife and caring mother with a passion for animals and helping people. She was an active volunteer at her children’s school and active in many charitable causes as well.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Cliff Barber of Spotsylvania; sons, Ian Schooler of Grand Rapids, MI, and Caleb and Seth Barber of Spotsylvania; sisters, Katie of Traverse City, MI and Jennie of Grand Rapids; mother, Wendy Kanoza of Traverse City; and father, Robert Cowan of Boyd, TX. Kelly was also aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Kelly’s family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery at noon. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
