Kathleen F. Derricott's Obituary
Kathleen F. “Mother Trucker” Derricott, 62, of King George County lost her fight with cancer April 4, 2016.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 24 years, Clifton E. Derricott, Jr.; a son, André L. Brown (Caleata); two brothers, Patrick J. Welch (Geri), and Mike Welch (Nedda); a sister-in-law, Janie Butters; two step-daughters; a stepson; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and two devoted girlfriends, Julie Mix (Dave) and Emma Brooks (Milton).
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Neil.
Kathleen was employed by Safeway Stores in Lanham, MD for 20 years, as a truck driver, until illness forced her to retired.
Other than her love of being a truck driver, she loved her pets. She had horses, dogs, chickens, and potbelly pigs. Kathy said animals give unconditional love. She loved to talk to people and would help anyone. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Arthur Washington Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Kathy’s family would like memorial contributions to be made to the Humane Society, 1523 William Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
