Katherine Jewell Shaver's Obituary
Katherine Jewell Shaver, 67, of Bumpass passed away at her home surrounded by her family Tuesday, May 11, 2010. She was born in Mullins, West Virginia to the late Ernest and Hazel Zimmerman.
Katherine was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church, and loved watching her grandchildren and cartoons. She loved to cook and take care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rodney L. Shaver of Bumpass; her loving children, Syprenia Farmer and her husband, Thomas, Terry L. Shaver and his wife, Becky, Ronda Purks and her husband, Glenn, and Angelia Shook and her husband, Carl. Katherine is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Amy and Amanda Farmer, David L., Rodney L. and Diamond Edwards, Alex Forrest, Joseph G. and Jessica C. Shaver, Glenda Purks, and C.J. Shook; one great grandchild, Ayden Stanley; and five brothers, Waynard, Delmar, Steven, William “Bill”, and Darrell Zimmerman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sidney L. and Ernest L. “Buddy” Zimmerman, and Lonnie “Buck” Miles.
Katherine’s family will receive friends Friday, May 14, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Randy Newsome officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
