I worked with, or for, Karl for many years at the Department of Commerce. He was a true mentor in the full sense of the world and taught me so much. I admired him for his intellect, common sense, and loyalty. He was thoughtful and kind, and he had a wonderful wit. He was affectionate and caring in word and deed. He was honorable and ever so decent. I cherish the memories I have of him at work and at the occasional social events we attended where he, Martha (when she was able to join us!), and I giggled a lot! I am so thankful for those beautiful memories, and I am forever grateful for them.
Rest in peace, my dear friend.
