June Haught Judd's Obituary
June Haught Judd, age 81, passed away at her home in Reva, VA on Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was born on June 17, 1931 in Elkwood, VA to Warren Winfield Haught and Olive Swan Haught. On May 10, 1949, June married John David Judd of Culpeper.
June retired from Bell Atlantic, formally C & P Telephone Company, in 1990. She was an active member of the Verizon Pioneers. After retirement, June volunteered as a tutor at local elementary schools. She loved gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oak Park, VA.
June is survived by her children; Jan Broom and her husband, Jules of Fredericksburg, VA, Candy Standley and her husband, Jay of Culpeper, VA, and John Judd of Culpeper. Also surviving June are her grandchildren; Andrew and Kristin Standley, Bethany and Justin Kohut, John and Casey Standley, Alex Judd, and step-grandchildren; Katie, Alex and Chandler Curnow. June has three great grandchildren, Gavin and Brycen Standley and Grayson Kohut.
June is also survived by her siblings; Warren W. Haught, Jr. and his wife, Anna of Klamath Falls, OR, Sarah McNemar of Culpeper, VA, Dr. Jacob R. Haught II and his wife, Carol of Bristol, VA, and Sandra Walker and her husband, John of Catharpin, VA. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Melinda, her granddaughter, Shannon, her daughter-in-law, Lizza, and her sisters; Ruth M. Haught, Catherine H. Myers, Frances H. Jett, and Patricia H. Setti.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Home at 850 Sperryville Pike in Culpeper, VA.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Found and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Barry Van Pelt will officiate.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Andrew Standley, John Standley, Alex Judd, Justin Kohut, Chandler Curnow, and nephew Blake Scott.
