June "Louise" Childress' Obituary
June “Louise” Childress, 86, of Elkwood, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was born on June 19, 1934, in Spotsylvania to the late Carl and Lydia Edwards.
Louise was an active member of Mt. Holly Baptist Church. She was a telephone operator in her younger years. Then, she was a homemaker, excellent seamstress, and wonderful cook. She enjoyed being with family and friends, going out to eat, and going to church.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Childress (Margie Mabe); daughter in law, Cynthia Leftwich (Ron); granddaughters, Mary Kathryn Childress and Rachael Wagler (Nick); grandson, Wyatt Childress; great grandson, Kayden Redd; great granddaughters, Azalea Corbin and Carlie Wagler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Edwards; two sons, Ralph and Steven Childress; and her husband of almost 60 years, Raymond Childress.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper. Due to COVID 19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11:00 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lindsey Sadler officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Road, Jeffersonton, VA 22724.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louise’s name to
